Parents face trouble due to closure of MIS portal by the government
JIND: Parents have been facing an issue to get CLCs (School Leaving Certificates) for their children.
Due to the portal being closed, admissions in other schools are not being granted. Parents said that following the high fee being charged by the private schools, poor families are focusing more on enrolling their children in government schools.
Parents said, "We wanted to get our children admitted to other schools, but due to not receiving the CLC certificate, it has become a major problem to get admissions elsewhere. Even after visiting schools multiple times, we are unable to get the CLC certificate. When we go to the office, we are told that the government has shut down the MIS portal for several days, which is causing all these problems, said Baljeet, father of a student.
Sarita, a native of Jind City stated that my two children have been studying in a private school in the city area. We are paying a heavy fees in this school and administration didn't agree to reduce it despite being enrolled two students. However, other school agreed to enroll our children on a lower fee but school administration denied to protect provide CLC. It has heen 15 days to visit this school frequently but went vain so far. The state government or education department should take cognizance into the matter," she added.
Block education officer (BEO) Subhash Verma stated that the MIS Portal has been shut down by the Education Department. Under this, all private schools were directed to reserve 25% of their seats. Due to the closure of the MIS Portal for the past several days, CLC certificates are not being issued in any school. There are chances the portal may open in the coming days. Once the portal is active, parents will be relieved from the difficulties in obtaining the CLC, he added.
