6-year-old girl dies after stray dog attack in Amroha
Bijnor: A six-year-old girl died on Thursday after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Bijhalpur village, Amroha district.
The incident occurred on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of Hasanpur police station when Sanjana, a Class 2 student, had accompanied her family to their farm where they were harvesting wheat. While she played near the roadside, a pack of dogs attacked her. Family members rushed to help after hearing her cries, but she had already sustained serious injuries.
She was taken to the district hospital in critical condition and later referred to a higher centre in Delhi, where she died during treatment on Thursday evening.
The victim was the eldest of two sisters. Villagers said stray dog attacks have become common in the area and urged authorities to take immediate action.
Amroha district magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats has directed officials to respond swiftly to the issue.
