Four arrested in Mumbai for murder over property dispute

MUMBAI: Four people, including a woman, were arrested by the Bandra Police in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man late on Thursday. One of the accused was a relative of the deceased, Shakir Ali. Police said the motive was a property dispute.
The four accused have been identified as Imran Khan, his wife Kayanat Khan, her father, Nasir Khan, 62, and her brother, Farooq Khan.
Police said the incident was reported at Dargah Gully around 9 pm. The accused lived close to Shakir's residence.
According to the police, a heated exchange of words broke out between Shakir and Kayanat. Her husband, Imran, and her family came to her rescue. A scuffle broke out during which Imran allegedly stabbed Shakir with a knife. Three others were also injured in the incident.
Shakir was subsequently pronounced dead.
After the Bandra Police were informed, a case of murder was registered. A police team examined CCTV footage from the neighbourhood and questioned witnesses.
Based on preliminary findings, police arrested Imran, Kayanat, Nasir, and Farooq. Police said Imran has a prior record and was booked by the Santacruz Police in the past.
