Mysuru: No one should commit suicide thinking they failed in the exams. One should consider failure as a stepping stone to success and aim to achieve goals in life, said Chamundeshwari MLA GT Devegowda on Friday.
Speaking after inaugurating Janapadotsava, a folk festival, at Vijayanagar Govt Women's First Grade College, he said, "Today's failure can be tomorrow's success. Challenges must be faced effectively. Life should be lived simply, avoiding extravagance. Students should shape their future by following the ideals of great personalities like Akka Mahadevi and Savitribai Phule. One must strive to achieve their set goals."
He encouraged youth to adopt a simple lifestyle, discouraging lavish weddings. "Don't sell property for weddings—build your future with that money," he said.
Devegowda also praised the academic achievements of female students and recommended incorporating yoga and disciplined study habits for success. He mentioned initiatives through CSR funds and expressed regret over not completing the construction of a dedicated girls' hostel.
Noted orator and retired Kannada professor M Krishnegowda, stressing on the importance of knowledge and academic excellence in today's competitive world, said, "With real knowledge and good marks, your future is secure."
