Nashik civic body starts online registration of new private hospitals in city
Nashik: In a bid to simplify registration of new private hospitals, the Nashik Municipal Corporation has made the process online with immediate effect from April 15.
It also announced the web portal for the registration and approval of new private hospitals — http://hospreg.nmc.gov.in.
At present, there are more than 550 private hospitals in the city. Private hospitals also have to renew their registrations/licences every three years. Earlier, private hospitals applied for registrations offline, and it took over six months for the process to complete. This wasted both time and money. Therefore, NMC commissioner Manisha Khatri decided to make the registration process for private hospitals online and instructed the civic body's health department to develop the mechanism for online registrations.
Nashik's civic chief, Manisha Khatri, has appealed to doctors to avail of the online facilities.
"The initiative of the NMC administration is really appreciable. This will bring transparency, make the process faster, and save time and harassment as the doctors will not need to go to the NMC office," said a senior medical practitioner.
