Stolen idols from Gupta Dham temple recovered, four held
Patna: Rohtas police recovered four brass idols stolen from renowned Gupta Dham temple in Chenari police station area and arrested four people in this connection, said Sasaram SDPO Dilip Kumar on Tuesday. The four brass idols were stolen from the temple's main building on April 12.
Following an investigation, two individuals, Jyala Paswan and Kaju, both residents of Ughani under Chenari police station, were detained for questioning. During interrogation, they confessed to their crime and named two other accused, Chandan Kumar alias Nandlal and Chhotelal Kumar, both from Telari, along with another suspect.
Police raided the residences of Chandan and Chhotelal and recovered the four stolen idols arrested within 24 hours, before arresting both the individuals, the SDPO said. One more suspect remains at large.
