Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan to present Kerala state film awards 2023 in Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will present the 2023 Kerala State Film Awards at a function to be held at Nishagandhi Auditorium at 6pm on Wednesday. Cultural affairs minister Saji Cherian will preside over the function.
The chief minister will also present the JC Daniel Award, the highest film honour from the state govt to director Shaji N Karun. A total of 48 film talents, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Urvashi, Blessy, Vijayaraghavan, Resul Pookutty, Vidyadharan, Jeo Baby, Joju George, Roshan Mathew and Sangeeth Prathap, will the receive awards.
Ministers V Sivankutty, KN Balagopal, K Rajan, VK Prasanth MLA, mayor Arya Rajendran, district panchayat president D Suresh Kumar, cultural affairs department additional chief secretary Rajan N Khobragade and cultural affairs department director Divya S Iyer will also attend the event.
JC Daniel Award jury chairman TV Chandran, film award jury chairman Sudhir Mishra, literary section jury chairperson Janaki Sreedharan, Kerala Cultural Activists' Welfare Fund Board chairman Madhupal, Chalachitra Academy chairman Premkumar and secretary C Ajoy will also be present.
The event will feature a musical performance by Stephen Devassy's band ‘Solid Band'.
