TDP leader seeks enhanced security cover for Viveka murder case approver
Tirupati: TDP leader Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy, popularly known as B.Tech Ravi, has urged the govt to enhance the security cover for Shaik Dasthagiri, the accused-turned-approver in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
Expressing concerns over the safety of Dasthagiri, he drew up similarities between former minister Paritala Ravi murder case, in which witnesses died one after the other in mysterious ways, with the Viveka case in which witnesses have already died in a similar manner. He alleged that key witnesses in the case, including Kasunuru Srinivasa Reddy, Kuwait Gangadhar Reddy, driver Narayana, YS Abhishek Reddy, and Ranganna, Vivekananda Reddy's former watchman, have all died under mysterious circumstances since the case investigation began. Abhishek Reddy remained in coma for several months and suddenly passed away.
Demanding a detailed enquiry into the suspicious death of watchman Ranganna, who died at Kadapa RIMS hospital a couple of days ago, the former MLC urged the govt to enhance the security cover for Dasthagiri and initiate measures to protect other witnesses in the case.
Meanwhile, reacting to the ‘suspicious death' of Ranganna, Kadapa SP E G Ashok Kumar stated that four key witnesses in Viveka case — Srinivasa Reddy, Gangadhar Reddy, Abhishek Reddy and Ranganna — died under "mysterious circumstances". The police dept has several doubts over their deaths and will probe them thoroughly, he added.
