Woman attempts self-immolation

Vijayawada: A 52-year-old woman named Nallabothu Madhavi attempted suicide by self-immolation near Bapatla railway station on Friday. The woman torched herself in front of a private railway reservation counter, which is operated by a retired railway employee, Talabandula Lakshmi Narayana Rao (68). Shockingly, she also set him ablaze during the incident.
According to Bapatla town inspector Rambabu, Narayana was in a relationship with Madhavi for 25 years. However, in recent months, he started distancing himself from her. Upset over his indifference, she tried to burn herself along with the man.TNN
