This is the last thing that Antoine Fuqua, director of Gerard Butler starrer ‘Olympus has Fallen’ would have expected to happen with him. The director recently revealed how he had an ironic encounter with the real life US Secret service agent while shooting the scene of big takeover of the White House with Gerard Butler, who plays the role of secret service agent in the film.
This up close and personal encounter in an odd bit of
convergence left the director shocked. Speaking on his encounter with the Secret Service agent while making the film, Antoine Fuqua says, “While we were shooting, I got a call from my wife saying the Secret Service was at our house; I freaked out, thinking it had something to do with the movie.”
Revealing the reason of their presence, the director says, “It turned out that there was someone special in my neighborhood that day and, apparently, from my house there’s a vantage point of the house he was visiting, so they wanted to use my house for observation. I still don’t know who was in that house, but I found it kind of ironic that, the day I’m shooting the big takeover of the White House, the Secret Service shows up on my doorstep.”
Gerard Butler starrer ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ is the story about a disgraced Secret Service agent Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler) who battles White House-invading terrorists to save the US President (
Aaron Eckhart). Using his extensive training and inside knowledge, Banning works with national security to become the eyes and ears of Acting President Allan Trumbull (
Morgan Freeman) and his advisors. The entire nation watches as Banning becomes the last hope of America to re-take the White house and avert the disaster.
Olympus Has Fallen is all set to hit theatres on March 22nd, 2013.
