Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli, the mastermind behind blockbusters like 'RRR' and 'Baahubali,' is gearing up for his next epic project, 'SSMB 29.'. The movie features heavyweights Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles and is currently in production and being shot in Odisha.
During the Odisha shoot, Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra were spotted interacting with locals, taking photos, and engaging with fans. MLA Ramachandra Kadam met SS Rajamouli and gifted him handmade millet products.
The film's shoot began in February 2025 in Hyderabad and has since moved to Odisha, where crucial forest sequences are being filmed. Despite efforts to keep the project under wraps, several leaks have surfaced, including a scene featuring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. In response, the team has tightened security measures to prevent further leaks.


Mahesh Babu leads the cast as the protagonist, while Priyanka Chopra marks her return to Indian cinema after a long hiatus. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist. The music is composed by M.M. Keeravani, and cinematography is by P.S. Vinod.

'SSMB 29' will be an action-adventure made on a grand spectacle, as the budget of the film is said to be over Rs 1000 crore. Although the plot details are under wraps, it is rumored to blend elements of Indian history with mythological themes. The movie is said to take inspiration from America's 'Indiana Jones.'. The story is set in the spiritual city of Kashi, which is being recreated in Hyderabad due to logistical challenges.

The film is also said to be released in two parts, with the first part speculated to hit the screens during the Summer 2027 window.
