Venkatesh Daggubati's latest film, 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' was a major success at the box office this Sankranti, delighting audiences since its theatrical release on January 14, 2025. Following its impressive run, the film is now ready to make its digital debut next month.
'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' will start streaming on ZEE5 on March 1, 2025, and will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi as per a Pinkvilla report.
Interestingly, the film will also have its television premiere on ZEE Telugu at 6 PM on the same day. This strategy of prioritizing a TV release before digital streaming is expected to attract more viewership.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi the film is about YD Raju who leads a peaceful life with his wife Bhagyalakshmi. Their routine is disrupted when Raju's ex-girlfriend, ACP Meenakshi, seeks his help in solving a kidnapping case.
As Raju helps in the investigation, Bhagyalakshmi grows suspicious of his interactions with Meenakshi and insists on joining him to keep an eye on the situation. This setup creates an action and comedy scenario between the characters which was received by the audience and grossed over Rs 300 crore globally.
'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' features a talented cast that includes
Aishwarya Rajesh as Bhagyalakshmi and Meenakshi Chaudhary as ACP Meenakshi. Other actors include Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, Srinivasa Reddy, Upendra Limaye, Naresh, and VTV Ganesh in key roles.
'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' also marks the third collaboration between Venkatesh and director Anil Ravipudi, following the successful 'F2' and 'F3.'
The film also emerged as one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the season unlike many recent Telugu films that lean heavily on high-octane action or intense drama, this is a full-fledged family comedy that has elements of crime thriller. Meanwhile, Venkatesh's previous outing was 'Saindhav' which failed to mint magnificent numbers at the box office.
