Following his brilliant performance, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared his candid remark on the veteran superstar, showering heartfelt praise.
Steve Kerr had high praise for Stephen Curry’s stunning 52-point performance
Stephen Curry’s show-stealing performance is not surprising to Steve Kerr. However, the Warriors' head coach believes that Curry’s time off the court helped him regain his momentum. “I think (the week off) helped and I think two rounds of golf on this road trip helped,” Kerr said (via Anthony Slater on X).
“The guy is 37 years old. Incredible. Fifty-two points with people draped all over him all game long. The conditioning. The skill. The audacity. The belief. It’s just incredible to watch Steph at work,” Kerr added during the post-game chat with the reporters.
Curry delivered a well-rounded performance in 36 minutes and 31 seconds of action. He poured in 52 points on an efficient 31-of-51 shooting 60.0% from the field, including a stellar 12-of-20 from three-point range.
Curry was flawless from the free-throw line, sinking all eight of his attempts for a perfect 100% efficiency. Beyond scoring, he contributed across the board with 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and a block. Additionally, he kept turnovers low with just two and committed only two personal fouls. Further, he had a remarkable plus/minus of 52.
Curry erupted for his second 50-point game of the season, making history along the way. Midway through the third quarter, he sank two free throws to surpass Jerry West (25,192) and claim 25th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, finishing the night with 25,205 career points.
