Kyren Lacy’s father had appeared on the popular WAFB-TV podcast in August 2024 and spoke about his son’s journey.
Kyren Lacy’s father had said, “His mind’s been focused. He’s just been grinding. I’ve been waiting for this moment…No doubt about it. He's been working hard for it. The experience he's had over the years. The relationship he’s got with guys at that level.”
He added, “It’s been a long time. I’m just excited to sit down and watch my son do what he loves to do.”
But it all came to an end this weekend as the talented player took his last breath.
Kyren Lacy was involved in an accident that claimed a man’s life in December 2024
Kyren Lacy was declared for the 2025 NFL Draft but passed away before he even got close to it. The star player had everything going for his life but it all came to a standstill in December 2024.
Kyren Lacy had found himself in a huge controversy when he got involved in an accident that had caused the death of a 78 year old man. He was quickly arrested and was charged with felony hit-and-run, reckless driving and negligent homicide.
The former LSU Tigers wide receiver was later released on a $151,000 bond. A grand jury was supposed to begin hearing his case today and it seems like Kyren Lacy might have not been able to take this well which forced him to take such a drastic step.
Hours ago, his father took to his Facebook account to open up about his son’s untimely and tragic death.
Kyren Lacy’s father wrote, "Young parents, start talking to your kids at a very early age…Don't be cool with 'I'm Alright, or I'm good' when you know deep down something isn't right. Mental Health is real, and for the most part [and] it's invisible. Don't ignore the signs, even if they may seem small.”
Many NFL stars have expressed grief over the untimely death of Kyren Lacy. This includes Cincinnati Bengals’ star Ja’Marr Chase as well as the New York Giants’ Russell Wilson.
Kyren Lacy is survived by both of his parents.
