“It’s pretty clear it’s a penalty”: Vegas Golden Knights unhappy about missed call in Game 2 of Round 2 against Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers secured an overtime victory against the Vegas Golden Knights, but the game was marred by a controversial missed penalty call. Golden Knights captain Mark Stone and coach Bruce Cassidy criticized the non-call on Viktor Arvidsson's apparent trip on Brayden McNabb. Frustrated fans echoed these sentiments online, questioning the fairness of the officiating after Leon Draisaitl's winning goal.

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone shared with ESPN, “It’s pretty clear, it’s a penalty. His(Viktor Arvidsson) stick is between (Brayden)McNabb’s legs, and he sends him headfirst into the boards. It’s pretty clear-cut penalty in my eyes. And I think everybody’s eyes, right? But that’s hockey. You don’t always get the calls.” Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy also talked about the missed call with ESPN, “Listen, Gord’s looking at it.He blew it. He missed the call. I don’t know what else to say. It’s a can-opener trip, it’s a dangerous play, it’s all those things. But it didn’t get called, so you’ve got to keep playing.”

The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vegas Golden Knights by an OT goal after NHL referees missed a call on Oilers ice hockey center Viktor Arvidsson

Leon Draisaitl scored the OT winning goal against the Golden Knights. The score total went from 4-4 to 5-4! But before this could happen, an incident went unnoticed. If that incident had been noticed, the Golden Knights could have gotten a power play! That’s what the X users say. One wrote, “Im unfollowing the NHL until they get it right. YOU MISSED THE PENALTY THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED ON THE OILERS RIGHT BEFORE THAT LAST GOAL.” Another said, “Shouldn’t have happened, VEGAS should have been on the power play when that was scored.”

Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said the Game 2 loss against the Edmonton Oilers will sting

Bruce Cassidy further shared with ESPN, “This one will sting. But the positives tomorrow will be good. I felt that we outplayed Oilers for the most part and deserved a better fate. How the guys look at that? If they take it as - we just gotta carry that over - we both said we wanted to get better as the series went on, and we were certainly better than Game 1. So, we will improve on today if we want to get back into it.”When the official X account of the Vegas Golden Knights shared, “McDraisaitl in overtime. Oilers win Game 2.” - X users strongly expressed their emotions.“McDavid and Drai own you”“Wow. I’ve seen enough. The series is over. Next year it is I guess. Been a fan of this team for 10 years now. This performance was just terrible.”“That was the most atrocious non-call I’ve ever seen. The refs were horrible, worse than Hill was during regulation”“evander kane paid off these canadian refs”“Good win for the refs.”
“There’s something wrong with this game. The 5 minutes was earned. The no call with the stick between the legs?“what a night, unfortunate ending for VGK”“Cooked. Series over”“Mcdavid broke dudes ankle and made him look dumb and it singlehandedly costed Vegas the game”“Nice no call on the McNabb trip, tell us who you want to win @NHL”Also Read: “Refs rigging this game!” Leon Draisaitl scores an OT goal and wins Game 2, Round 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights | NHL News - The Times of India
