Moon Banerrjee, who has been part of shows like
Chashme Baddoor, Abhimaan, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Muskaan, Sasural Simar Ka 2, and Doree, to name some, is turning a year older on April 23. She always celebrates her big day with her friends and family but confessed that she doesn’t pre-plan it.
She said, “The plan is always to celebrate with friends and family. This year I haven't made any plans as such, so I will play it by ear. I don't stick to any preplanning as such unless I have planned a trip during that time, but this year I haven't because I thought I might be shooting”.
While there isn’t any particular birthday ritual that she follows, she likes to work half a day if she is busy with a project on this day.
She said, “It happened once when I was doing a show,
Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, when I worked till 12 and came back home to celebrate with my family. I like a
half-working birthday. The ritual is that if I'm doing a particular project during that time, then I prefer shooting at least half a day and then coming back to celebrate with family.”
“This year I will go to my guruji’s ashram and spend some time there. Well, no particular ritual that I follow as such,” she added.
Moon also confessed that her birthday is incomplete without her son Rumeer.
She called him his center, her extension, and her life and said, “I am a very consumed and involved mother, so everything revolves around him.” In fact, her most treasured gifts on her birthday are the ones made by her son.
She said, “All the handmade cards made by him have been my most treasured gifts because when kids are that age where they express themselves via amateur, imperfect, handmade gifts, it's pure love, and that's priceless, so I have preserved them and kept them because now he tends to save money and buy stuff for me.”
A non-materialistic gift that you can gift yourself? “The ability to become a child with every passing year in terms of curiosity for knowledge and seeking spirit, I want to go backwards when it comes to being passionate and curious like a child for little things in life,” Moon ended.
