Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared his support for Zionism, reaffirming that Canadians should never feel afraid to identify as Zionists. "And it is incumbent upon me and upon my successor as prime minister, upon the premiers, municipal leaders, police chiefs and every single Canadian, particularly non Jewish allies, to not only speak out against anti Semitism, but to act to stop its spread and to take this deadly threat seriously," he added.
The Israeli embassy in Canada expressed deep appreciation for Trudeau's statement, highlighting its significance during challenging times for Jews globally. They noted a concerning 670% increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Canada since October 7th, underscoring the urgency of addressing this issue. The embassy reiterated the need for words of solidarity to be matched with meaningful actions to ensure safety, combat hate, and educate against anti-Semitism.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties and widespread destruction. The health infrastructure is severely compromised, with hospitals in Gaza struggling due to shortages of essential supplies like food, water, fuel, and medicine.
