Naib tehsildar denies bribery allegations, calls claims baseless

HISAR: Naib Tehsildar Rahul Rathi has dismissed the bribery allegations leveled against him as entirely baseless. Responding to the accusations of demanding a Rs 5 lakh bribe, Rathi stated that the issue arose due to deficiencies in the documents submitted for land registration.
“When we asked for the deficiencies to be rectified, the advocate and his associates created a disturbance in the office and even issued threats,” Rathi said. He maintained that no bribe was ever demanded and that the situation escalated only after procedural requirements were pointed out.
