Competitions held to create awareness on mental well-being
Mysuru: In order to create awareness among students about the importance of mental well-being and the dangers of substance abuse, Young Indians (Yi) Mysuru Chapter – Health Vertical, in association with Daksha College, Mysuru, organised a skit and poster-making competition on the theme ‘Mental Health and Addiction'.
Dr Manjunath, head of DRM Multi-Specialty Hospital, asked students to give back to society, stay away from peer pressure, harmful habits, and stress. He emphasised the importance of staying mentally strong and highlighted the fine line between maintaining good health and falling into the trap of addiction.
Abdul, chair of the Yi Mysuru Health Vertical, highlighted the importance of focusing on personal goals without getting distracted by drugs or negative influences. He urged students to break the stigma surrounding mental health, reminding them that it is okay to talk about one's struggles. He also stressed on the need to prioritise both physical and mental fitness, advocating for a culture where young individuals put their well-being first.

Gagan Ranka, chair of Yi Mysuru Chapter, elaborated on the various initiatives undertaken by Yi and the organisation's vision to drive positive societal change. Jayachandra Raju, chairman of Daksha College, was present.
As part of the programme, students enthusiastically participated in skits and a poster-making competition, showcasing their creativity and commitment to raising awareness about mental health challenges and the harmful effects of substance abuse.
