Sangareddy, nestled in the Sangareddy district of Telangana, plays a pivotal role as a semi-urban seat within the Medak Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency.
The area boasts 153,885 voters, comprising 77,681 men and 76,199 women. In the 2018 Telangana elections, Sangareddy witnessed a robust voter turnout of 82.25%, marking a significant increase from the 73.97% recorded in 2014.
The 2014 legislative assembly contest saw Chinta Prabhakar, representing the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, emerge victorious with 82,860 votes. His closest contender, Jayaprakash Reddy T from the Indian National Congress, secured 53,338 votes, trailing behind by 29,522 votes.
In the 2018 TS Assembly elections Turupu Jayaprakash Reddy of the Indian National Congress secured 76,572 votes, edging ahead of Chinta Prabhakar, who gathered 73,983 votes. Reddy's victory had a slender margin of 2,589 votes.
Looking ahead to the upcoming 2023 election, Chinta Prabhakar from the BRS and Turupu Jayaprakash Reddy are set to engage in what promises to be another closely contested political battle for Sangareddy.
