Exclusive- Aishwarya Sakhuja on her comeback with Zyada Mat Udd: Had to be something that stood out

Aishwarya Sakhuja, known for her appearances in Saas Bina Sasural, Main Naa Bhoolungi, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Trideviyaan, and the film Ujda Chaman, is making a much-anticipated return to television after a three-year absence. She returns with the new TV show Zyada Mat Udd, playing a role that wonderfully balances authority and levity.
Speaking about her character and the show, she shared, "I am playing the role of Shilpa Srivastav, the head of the cabin crew. She is bossy, intimidating, and sharp, but her weakness is that she always wanted to become an actress— a dream that didn’t come true. Every now and then, her inner drama queen takes over, surprising everyone. It’s a fun character and extremely unpredictable."
When asked what made her say yes to Zyada Mat Udd, Aishwarya revealed, "This show came to me after a long three-year sabbatical. I was waiting for something that wasn’t run-of-the-mill and truly stood out. If I was going to make a comeback, it had to be with a show like Zyada Mat Udd."
With a title that hints at humor, Aishwarya's character plays a key role in adding to the show's comic elements. She expressed her excitement for the genre, saying, "Comedy is my favorite genre. I have done theater, and most of my plays have been comedies. I think comedy comes naturally to me, and I really enjoy performing it. Also, it’s a genre that helps actors refine their skills."
Zyada Mat Udd also stars Helly Shah and Shehzad Shaikh and will premiere on 8th March.
