Kanwar Dhillon has been winning hearts with his performance in
Udne Ki Aasha, adding to his impressive run after the success of
Pandya Store. Known for his consistent charm and dedication, Kanwar has long been a fan favorite. In an exclusive conversation with the Times of India TV, he opened up about his parents' reaction to his
growing success and shared whether he seeks acting advice from his father.
Speaking about his dad and his support, he says, "Dad has been truly supportive and proud of my journey, especially with the success that Udne Ki Aasha has brought. In a way, he sees his own legacy continuing through me, and that’s a deeply fulfilling feeling for any parent. When it comes to feedback, both my parents are incredibly honest about my work, they’re my biggest cheerleaders but also my most genuine critics. I really value their opinions, and knowing that they’re enjoying my performance pushes me to keep giving my best."
Kanwar also shared that his father has always been his biggest inspiration and someone he looks up to. He considers him not just a guiding figure but also his idol, both in life and in his acting career.
"Dad has always been my idol and motivation. I have grown up watching him. I know the passion he had for his work so I know when he tells me something it comes from a place of love and concern and also the fact that he has been there and done that. His work has always been one of the most respected people in the industry so conducting myself as an actor and even otherwise is something I have learnt from him hugely," he shares.
Although Kanwar discusses all his decisions with his family, he ensures that the final call and responsibility rest entirely on his shoulders. "While I am the sole decision maker of my work I am very clear the onus of every decision I make has to come on me. Good, bad, ugly I take charge of it completely. I want my journey to be mine. I of course discuss with them before taking up something or declining something so they and a family are also aware of my thoughts and reasons. We come from a different schooling dads time was different and my time is different. So yes we do have a clash of thoughts on days but we both understand each other and eventually we agree on a lot of things and sometimes not but they stand proud of me and the projects I have taken up. Apart from this my father specifically has always told me to make my own decisions, stick to the word you give and take charge and onus of what you take under you so with that in mind I move forward mindfully,” he concluded.
Kanwar is famous Bollywood actor Deep Dhillon's son.
