Anand Mahindra's praise
In his post, Mahindra expressed gratitude for Dr. Nair's efforts, stating, "At a time when the US has taken sustainability off its priority list, I am just grateful that we have such heroes amongst us." The post has since gone viral, with many netizens hailing Dr. Nair as "India's Miyawaki Man."
A Green Revolution in Kutch
The forest, spanning 470 acres and home to over 300,000 native trees, was developed using the Miyawaki method, a rapid afforestation technique pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. This method involves planting a variety of indigenous tree species close together to mimic natural ecosystems, resulting in dense, self-sustaining forests that grow 10 times faster than traditional plantations.
