Chadoora Assembly constituency
The Chadoora Assembly constituency, located in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, is one of the 90 constituencies in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. It is also a part of the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
In the 2014 elections, the seat was won by Javaid Mustafa Mir of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party.
Mir emerged victorious by defeating Ali Mohammad Dar of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference with a margin of 1,693 votes.
Mir secured 25,770 votes, while his opponent, Dar, received 24,077 votes. This was not the first time Mir had won the seat; in the 2008 elections, he had also defeated Dar, albeit with a larger margin of 2,940 votes.
The electoral process for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly will commence on September 18, followed by subsequent rounds on September 25 and October 1. The outcome of these elections will be officially declared on October 8, marking the conclusion of the voting process.
