Baramulla assembly constituency
Baramulla is a legislative assembly constituency in Jammu & Kashmir. The upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled for September 18.
In the 2014 elections, Baramulla had a total of 82,937 electors, with 32,954 valid votes cast. Javid Hassan Baig, the candidate from the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), won the seat with 14,418 votes, defeating Gh Hassan Rahi of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, who secured 7,401 votes, by a margin of 7,017 votes.
In 2008, Baramulla had 73,112 electors, with 24,355 valid votes. Muzaffar Hussain Baig, the PDP candidate, won the seat with 13,019 votes, defeating Nazir Hussain Khan of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, who secured 7,621 votes, by a margin of 5,398 votes.
In 2002, Baramulla had 73,274 electors, with 17,693 valid votes. Muzaffar Hussain Baigh, the PDP candidate, won the seat with 6,833 votes, defeating Ghulam Nabi Kachru of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, who secured 3,984 votes, by a margin of 2,849 votes.
