One of the most loved shows of Indian Television,
CID which made a comeback on television screens last year in December, shocked fans with news of it's iconic character
ACP Pradyuman aka Shivaji Satam's death. As soon as the news came to light, ardent fans of the show took to social media to express their disappointment and demanded
ACP Pradyuman's return. Following his exit, fans were left disheartened, and the makers brought in
Parth Samthaan to portray ACP Anushman. However, the audience has continued to express their desire to see him return — and now, reports suggest that he’s gearing up for a grand comeback, sparking excitement among his followers.
A source close to the production house, recently informed Bombay Times about the iconic character's return. The source shared, "ACP Pradyuman is an iconic character and it can never die.
Shivaji Satam will be back on the show in a few weeks. Parth Samthaan who has made an entry will be shooting for the show for a short period of time. In the past, the makers have killed characters and brought them back to shows; so such twists and turns are normal."
The moment news of ACP Pradyuman’s return surfaced online, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their excitement and enthusiasm.
One of the users wrote, “We were right. Our belief our trust was right. Humare @shivaajisatam sir wapis aa rahe hai people. #CID2 #CID.” Another one commented, "ONG finally hamare @shivaajisatam sir vapas aa rahe hai..
Waiting for his grand entry in CID...... The Boss will be back soon.”
A user wrote, “Power of social media. Maybe this was done to create hype.”
A netizen commented, "Hahaha, even the makers know that removing ACP Pradyuman from CID is like digging their own grave. He will be back soon the legendary ACP Pradyuman returns! (Parth Samarth might be appearing for just a few episodes).”
In an interview with BT a few days ago, Shivaji Satam had said, "I have taken a break for sometime and the makers know what lies ahead in the show. I have learnt to take everything in my stride and if my track is over, I am okay with it. However, I have not been told whether my track is over or not! As of now, I am not shooting for the show." CID is an iconic show and Shivaji has been associated with the show for 22 years. The actor added, "It has been an exciting and fruitful journey. I can never forget what the show has given me. I have never done any other TV shows but focussed on CID for so many years because I loved the script and treatment."
Parth Samthaan made a comeback to television with
CID 2, where he’ll be seen portraying a fresh character, ACP Anushman. Interestingly, he had initially declined the role. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, he confessed that the idea of seasoned actors like Dayanand Shetty addressing him as ‘sir’ on-screen felt a bit uncomfortable at first.
Speaking about his return to the TV screens after five years, he shared, "I was offered a few scripts, but they were all similar, romantic roles. When this show was offered to me, I decided to take on the challenge." Fans are enjoying the show.
